As I mentioned in a Facebook post, our WebHost IPower made some upgrades to their hosting platform that crashed our website. We pay for extra backup services, which they refused to honor after they crashed our sites. The irony with this entire scenario is they admitted to causing the crash and still refuse to restore our site to its original state.
Fighting with their tech support is a complete loss. They don't care about the customer that pays for them to have a job. Support technicians opening line is: "We understand that your website is your top priority, and assisting you is ours." Most of them don't speak English and simply want to clear their call cue. They do that as quickly as possible, so their personal call center support metrics look good. It's been very difficult for us to try and rebuild Ride It Wrench It because they failed to honor a paid agreement.
Recovering Content
As of now, we have managed to recover a lot of content. Unfortunately, most of it was lost. I had been writing since the summer of 2012, so there were 8 years of write-ups. We had to remove pages because we still have not been able to recover them.
The links on posts and pages have been extremely difficult to recover. Most of them have to be relinked one by one which in itself is a huge undertaking. Ride It Wrench It is not my full-time job so I can only work on it as I have the free time. Truthfully the site may never be fully restored.
Please be patient with us as we try to put the site back together. If you ever need web hosting, stay away from IPower. They are disreputable and, for the most part, simply a scam organization.
Hi Scott, sorry to hear this happened. One way to at least maybe see the content you had is to use the wayback machine. Here's the link to the last snapshot it took: https://web.archive.org/web/20190520091730/https://rideitwrenchit.com/
It has 60 snapshots from over the years, so while not everything may be there, you should be able to get many of your posts and content, and simply copy and paste. It won't give you your website coding, but at least the content is there. You probably already know about it. Hope it helps. Mike
