I believe the more you know about your bike, the more you will appreciate and bond with your ride. Self-maintenance and repair should be performed at a level of personal comfort. If a task is beyond your skill level or your hesitant to perform the work, you should take it to an authorized dealer to have the work performed for safety reasons. Whatever level of work you perform a sense of accomplishment and personal pride will become embedded within you.
