Yesterday, we hit the road for a short ride to a very interesting site in Palo Pinto, Tx, The Old Jail Complex Museum. We swung by the Natty Flat Smokehouse on US-281 to take a break and get a picture of our bikes with a former Guinness World Record Rocking Chair.
Continuing our ride on FM-4 brought us to the small town of Palo Pinto, TX, where the museum resides.
We were met by Richard entering the complex, who was our tour guide and historian for the visit. His historical knowledge was unparalleled as we asked questions and wandered the site. I want to thank Richard for his warm welcome and the time he spent with us during our visit. This was more than just an old jail. Many historic plains homes have been donated and brought to the complex. They were restored to their original condition to preserve Texas History. Historical pictures and items of historical value further outlined the time period inside these structures.
Details about the Jail Complex can be found here: Old Jail Museum Complex. This was a fantastic ride with a very interesting and fulfilling destination.
