Texas peaches are at their peak for flavor. If you like peaches head out to a local farmers market or roadside seller. Peach season in Texas is typically mid-May through mid-August.
Quick Trip To Get A Bag Of Peaches
A couple of weeks back Margaret and I were visiting a local garden supply shop. Next to it was a roadside vendor with peaches! I had to check them out. I picked one up and the sweet fresh aroma filled my nose. After eating the bag in just two days I had to get more. I headed out on the Harley early while it was still somewhat cool and rode to that same roadside market.
Peach Festivals In Texas
Now is also the time for peach festivals in Texas. Festivals offer peaches in all of their glory. The festivals also promote lots of ways to use peaches. Jams, jellies, tea, punch, ice cream, and pies are some of the uses that are sold at the festivals. A quick internet search for peach festivals in your area will get you started if you want to attend one. If not, be sure at the very least, to get some peaches while they are in season. Preferably from a farmers market or roadside vendor to help support local businesses.
